Compact, Pressure-Resistant Dock Fender for Demanding Berths
The seaEQ Mooring-Performer MP 60-20-16 is a permanently mounted dock and wall fender designed for heavily used contact areas along docks, pontoons, landing stages and quay walls.
With dimensions of approximately 600 × 200 × 160 mm, the compact Mooring-Performer combines substantial depth with a multi-layer cushioning system consisting of a pressure-resistant XPS core, closed-cell PE foam and PPI foam.
Unlike a conventional fender suspended from a boat, the MP is permanently installed at the berth. Its protective surface is therefore already positioned at the intended contact area when the boat approaches.
Pressure-Resistant XPS Core and Multi-Layer Cushioning
The central element of the MP 60-20-16 is a pressure-resistant XPS core with a cross-section of approximately 160 × 110 mm.
The core is combined with different foam layers:
- XPS core: approximately 160 × 110 mm cross-section
- Closed-cell PE foam: approximately 30 mm
- PPI foam: approximately 10 mm
- Overall cushioning element cross-section: approximately 200 × 160 mm
The different materials perform specific functions within the fender construction.
The XPS core forms the pressure-resistant structural base. The additional PE and PPI foam layers provide cushioning in the immediate contact area, creating a multi-layer protective structure.
This combination is particularly suitable for defined contact zones exposed to repeated contact during docking manoeuvres and while the boat is moored.
Heavy-Duty, Fibre-Reinforced Outer Cover
The outer cover of the MP 60-20-16 consists of a tear-resistant polyester base fabric with a multi-layer PVC coating.
The material is designed for high mechanical loads and is largely resistant to UV radiation, oil, fuels, saltwater and mechanical abrasion.
This heavy-duty outer cover provides a robust textile protective layer for long-term use in marine berthing environments.
Technical Properties of the Outer Cover
- Material: polyester base fabric with multi-layer PVC coating
- Total weight: 1000 g/m² according to EN ISO 2286-2
- Tensile strength, warp/weft: 3000 / 3000 N/50 mm according to DIN EN ISO 1421/V1
- Tear resistance, warp/weft: 250 / 250 N according to DIN 53363
- Material thickness: approximately 0.8 mm
- Temperature resistance: −30 °C to +70 °C according to EN 1876-1
Stable PE Backing Plate
On the mounting side, the MP 60-20-16 features a backing plate made from polyethylene (PE), approximately 2 mm thick.
The backing plate forms a stable structural base within the fender construction and supports the broad-area connection between the Mooring-Performer and the berth structure.
Permanent Installation on Docks, Pontoons and Quay Walls
The seaEQ Mooring-Performer MP 60-20-16 is mounted directly onto a suitable dock, pontoon, landing stage or quay wall structure.
Two integrated mounting elements are provided:
- A pre-drilled mounting rail
- Two fold-out mounting tabs
These components allow the Mooring-Performer to be securely fastened to suitable surfaces such as wood, concrete or steel using screws or other appropriate mechanical fasteners.
The selection of screws and other mounting components depends on the supporting material and the requirements of the individual installation.
Mounting hardware is not included in the scope of delivery.
Fixed Protection for Compact Contact Areas
The Mooring-Performer remains permanently installed at the berth. Its protective surface is therefore already in the intended position when the boat approaches.
This is particularly beneficial at berths where a boat regularly docks in the same position or where repeated contact with the dock or quay wall structure may occur while moored.
With a length of approximately 600 mm, a height of 200 mm and a depth of 160 mm, the MP 60-20-16 provides a compact protective surface with substantial cushioning depth.
The shorter version is particularly suitable for space-limited installations and specifically defined contact areas requiring a permanently positioned, pressure-resistant fender construction.

Two Sizes for Different Berthing Requirements
The seaEQ Mooring-Performer is available in two sizes:
- MP 60-20-16: approximately 600 × 200 × 160 mm, approximately 1.8 kg
- MP 90-20-16: approximately 900 × 200 × 160 mm, approximately 2.4 kg
Both versions are based on the Mooring-Performer concept, combining a pressure-resistant XPS core, multi-layer cushioning and permanent installation at the berth.
The MP 60-20-16 is suitable for shorter contact areas and installations with limited space. The longer MP 90-20-16 provides a correspondingly larger protective surface.

Frequently Asked Questions About the seaEQ Mooring-Performer MP 60-20-16
Where is the MP 60-20-16 used?
The Mooring-Performer is permanently installed on docks, pontoons, landing stages and quay walls. It is particularly suitable for compact, defined and heavily used contact areas between the boat hull and the berth structure.
How does the MP differ from a conventional boat fender?
A conventional boat fender is usually attached to the boat and hangs alongside the hull.
The Mooring-Performer, by contrast, remains permanently mounted at the berth. Its protective surface is therefore already positioned at the intended contact area when the boat approaches.
How is the cushioning element constructed?
The MP combines a pressure-resistant XPS core with approximately 30 mm of closed-cell PE foam and 10 mm of PPI foam.
The XPS core has a cross-section of approximately 160 × 110 mm. The overall cushioning element measures approximately 200 × 160 mm in cross-section.
What is the function of the XPS core?
The XPS core forms the pressure-resistant structural base of the fender. The additional PE and PPI foam layers complement the construction and provide multi-layer cushioning in the contact area.
How much load can the Mooring-Performer withstand?
The MP is designed with a pressure-resistant XPS core and a multi-layer cushioning system for heavily used contact areas.
No general load rating in tonnes is specified for the complete fender, as the actual forces depend on the installation conditions, contact area and direction of force application.
What material is used for the outer cover?
The outer cover consists of a tear-resistant polyester base fabric with a multi-layer PVC coating and a total weight of 1000 g/m².
The material provides a tensile strength of 3000 / 3000 N/50 mm and a tear resistance of 250 / 250 N.
Is the MP suitable for outdoor and saltwater use?
The heavy-duty polyester/PVC outer cover is largely resistant to UV radiation, oil, fuels, saltwater and mechanical abrasion.
The material also has a specified temperature resistance from −30 °C to +70 °C according to EN 1876-1.
What is the purpose of the backing plate?
The approximately 2 mm thick PE backing plate forms the rear structural base of the fender and supports its broad-area connection to the berth structure.
How is the Mooring-Performer installed?
The MP features a pre-drilled mounting rail and two fold-out mounting tabs.
These allow the fender to be securely fastened to suitable dock, pontoon, landing stage or quay wall structures.
Can the MP be mounted on wood, concrete or steel?
Yes. The MP can be installed on suitable structures made from wood, concrete or steel.
The mounting hardware must be selected according to the supporting material and the specific installation conditions.
Is mounting hardware included?
No. The required mounting hardware is not included and must be selected to suit the individual berth structure.
What are the dimensions of the MP 60-20-16?
The Mooring-Performer MP 60-20-16 measures approximately 600 × 200 × 160 mm (length × height × depth).
How much does the MP 60-20-16 weigh?
The MP 60-20-16 weighs approximately 1.8 kg.
Which colours are available?
