seaEQ HLT 1500 – Flexible Hook-and-Loop Straps for Sails, Ropes and Equipment
The seaEQ HLT 1500 hook-and-loop strap is a reusable sail tie designed for quickly bundling, securing and holding together sails, ropes and equipment on board.
Measuring approximately 1500 mm in length and 40 mm in width, the HLT 1500 is particularly suitable for larger bundles of sailcloth and applications requiring a longer fastening strap.
The combination of hook-and-loop fastening surfaces allows the strap to be closed quickly, opened again and reused. No additional knots are required.
The HLT 1500 is manufactured in highly visible fluorescent orange and supplied in a pack of four straps.
Sail Ties for Mainsails and Headsails
The seaEQ HLT hook-and-loop straps are particularly suitable for use as sail ties for mainsails and headsails.
After lowering the sail, the sailcloth can be gathered into a compact bundle and secured, for example along the boom.
With a length of 150 cm, the HLT 1500 provides sufficient flexibility for securing larger circumferences of gathered sailcloth. The approximately 40 mm wide, flexible hook-and-loop strap can be wrapped easily around the sail.
The HLT also provides a practical solution for bundling and securing headsails and other suitable textile equipment.
Versatile Applications on Board
In addition to its use as a sail tie, the seaEQ HLT 1500 can be used wherever suitable items need to be temporarily bundled or held together.
Typical applications include:
- Mainsails and headsails
- Sailcloth and sail bags
- Ropes, lines and cordage
- Equipment on deck and below deck
- Luggage and bags
- Other suitable loose items on board
The hook-and-loop fastening can be opened and closed repeatedly. This makes the HLT particularly useful for applications where items need to be secured, released and secured again on a regular basis.
Hook-and-Loop Fastening – Quick to Close and Easy to Release
The seaEQ HLT 1500 combines hook-and-loop fastening surfaces to hold sails and other suitable items together.
To secure an item, the strap is wrapped around the material and fastened by pressing the hook and loop surfaces together.
To release it, the connected surfaces are simply pulled apart. The strap can then be used again.
This straightforward fastening method is particularly practical for frequently repeated tasks on board.
Robust Stitched Construction
The hook-and-loop material is stitched along its edges using heavy-duty polyester thread.
The ends are additionally secured with three rows of stitching, creating a robust, reusable fastening strap designed for regular use on board.
The seaEQ HLT straps are cut to size, assembled and stitched at the seaEQ workshop in Germany.
Fluorescent Orange – Highly Visible and Easy to Find
The seaEQ HLT 1500 is manufactured in fluorescent orange. Its distinctive colour makes the strap easier to spot and find on board.
This is particularly useful when straps are temporarily put aside after opening or placed among other equipment.
Colour information: Fluorescent pigments generally have lower lightfastness than conventional colours. Prolonged and intensive exposure to UV radiation may cause the colour intensity or fluorescent effect to fade over time.
Such colour changes do not affect the function of the HLT strap.
Four Lengths and a MULTI Set
The seaEQ HLT hook-and-loop straps are available in four different lengths. All versions are approximately 40 mm wide and manufactured in fluorescent orange.
- HLT 500: approx. 500 × 40 mm – Pack of 4
- HLT 850: approx. 850 × 40 mm – Pack of 4
